What the subject says; has anybody replaced the stock pickups in an Axis/SS with the 36th PAF Dimarzios?

If so, what are the main differences soundwise and in "feeling"?

Thanx! :D

Yeah, I tried PAF's, not the 36th though). I opt for the Norton bridge; punchy, aggressive, harmonics, and very colorful - my favorite Dimarzio!!

isnt that norton almost the same as the stock axis bridge pu? I know the air norton is real close to the axis neck pu.

I put some 36ths in my rosewood SS last year when I was doing blues shows and plugging straight in to Fender backlines. I'm a big fan of the 36ths. The neck pup is one of my all-time faves. Very versatile set for the blues/soul/R&B that I play.

Out of respect for BP, you may want to check out dimarzioforum.com, small (but growing) group that's pretty responsive over there.

No, really it's not. The Tone Zone, Norton, air norton, and the Axis bridge are all different (I've played them all). My overall favorite is the Norton for the music I play (Van Halen, Journey, Foreigner, Guns n Roses, Zepplin, etc. . . ).
