I mean seen one in the flesh? I've had one on order since NAMM, a 3 X 90 trem, and am trying to find out if they are shipping anywhere. Our store hosted an amazing Albert Lee/Musicman clinic a few days ago, and my GAS level is raging out of control. Help a bro out!-Eric

Thanks for the pic! It does look great in a sort of Les Paul Custom vein. I'm usually not one for black guitars, but when I heard about the rosewood board it put me over the top. The waiting IS the hardest part...-Eric

Well, let me tell ya. I seriously could not put that AL down. I like rosewood fretboards, and this one immediately caught my eye. The black and gold hardware on this baby is perfect in everyway. Sorry for some shaky photos, I was literally shaking taking those as this AL was beautiful.....not many guitars/basses do that to me....lol

You will certainly not be disappointed in your choice. I put my personal "guarantee" stamp on this one. The axe just sits in your lap perfectly, very well balanced and it lets you concentrate on the real important things, playability (flawless by the way) and tone....TO DIE FOR!

I believe Jon termed it "The strat killer" and that is what it is......

You are lucky my friend in such a wise choice.

I'm not sure when Koogie touched that guitar at NAMM, but that might explain where this rash came from.
:D

Dudley and I were talking about AL models and I said, "It's the shape that has always freaked me out about them." He swiftly led me over to the 20th and thrust it into my hands.

Ever get that feeling when you've had preconceptions of something, then they all vanish in an instant? Well, that happened to me.

The guitar played WONDERFULLY. It is ***so*** comfortable. I actually *liked* the body shape and how well it worked both sitting and standing.
I'm certainly no EB/MM expert, but I put the neck shape somewhere between a JP and a Silo. It's a great neck; very smooth and shaped for all kinds of players. Another thing I noticed was the weight- it's nice and light. It'd be easy to wear the guitar for hours and not see a chiropractor the next morning.

Like others have said, the black/gold sort of reminded me of "a certain older model guitar" when I first saw it. Thankfully, it plays much better than that "certain older guitar". LOL

I didn't get a chance to plug it in, but I'm sure the pickups sound great.

The only thing missing on the 20th I played is a trem. But, you guys know me and trems. LOL

Not usually a fan of gold hardware but it looks pretty good on that guitar.
The gold pole pieces on the pu's are a nice touch.

Glad someone finally mentioned the comfort angle. The trick with most MM guitars is to get someone to play them on a strap! The AL in particular is one of the most ergonomically-designed guitars I've ever played. Everything in the right place, and three sets later you don't even notice it hanging there, even moreso than my Silhouette Special.
Just heard we're expecting a new MM into the store anytime; really hoping it's my Albert!-Eric
