I sold her almost a year ago to find an engagement ring, stupid stupid stupid...

I want her back, I mean I never regretted selling anything like I did that bass.. I checked all my e-mail and my pms in this forum I cannot find who bought my bass, I remember they paid in check or money order so I cant trace it with paypal..

I remember the guy saying he owned a copper [something or other] stingray and there aren't too many people with these..

[EDIT] I FOUND THE SERIAL NUMBER E31367 It was previously owned by hanksray
Its the only thing I ever regret selling and I just want to find it so I can buy it back if he ever decided to sell it..

Anybody seen this thing anywhere?

So I begin my investigation, first I find my stingrays serial number with the great serial number database. That doesn't get me far so I use the serial number database to search for copper head basses, there are only 4 of them listed and I just so happened to find the bastard [just joking] who bought my bass, he reported his serial number here and I found a link to his myspace and here it is!!

I feel so much better just knowing where it is, now to see if I can talk him into selling it back.

I hope you can get it back!!!

I have a Sterling that I bought new at the Hollywood GC in '94 and never should have sold.... naturally, I didn't note the serial number or anything.

We've all done it and probably more than once. I can think of at least three myself.

Probably because he really likes it and it's awesome. Before selling ANY guitar I usually consider how hard it would be to get another like it or similar. I have a few guitars that are VERY hard to find, so those are usually the last I'd ever get rid of. Guitars like a Fender Tele, Gibson SG, or even a "normal" color stingray can be easily replaced when finances permit.

Spencer, I have a solution:

First, let me tell you that my roasted ebmm necks are the best necks EVER. Here's a substitute for the bass you're missing:

Classic Candy Red - but with a roasted neck. I hope this will help! (g.c. platinum site)

Take it from an old dood who has outlived many regrets ....

You WILL get over it even if you never see it again. Some
as-yet-uknown-to-you, new-to-you fascinating lust item
will come along and displace your current regrets with a
new love. Acoarst, it takes open eyes [and open mind] to
see and to notice your next love/lust/fascination, and your
cloud of regret limits your vision on that score.

I hope you can see here that I'm not being hard-hearted
about your situation, but rather being positive about your
situation moving forward and improving enuf to actually
eclipse your current feelings of loss.

Hey, at least your 'lost love' obviously has a good home
and is well appreciated, consider as how the current owner
refuses to part from her. Try to rejoice a bit in that ... and
give yourself a bit of credit for what you have brought into
some other player's hands and life. Forward, not backward
my friend. Thaz the rule, cuz this is a one-way trip, and it
always looks REEEEEAALLY short in hindsight.
