I have this thing from Japan TV, Lukather and Char meet for a jam and a chat. Stellar stuff, Luke plays his ass off, and he shows off his guitar collection, including the Axis body with single coils and Luke neck!!!

well the rad red Luke he uses in the show was pretty new he says, so 2004 was rad red LE yeah??? it has the black headstock.

right so that's was probably the last official use of the Robot
It was listed on Ebay on January 2004, so I reckon this show was probaly shoot in end 2003 as Lucious probably received the LE guitar in advance

yes Luke even says in the show that he is selling some guitars on ebay at the time, so that would fit.

As I recall the "Robot" didn't reach the reserve price.... so it didn't sell.
I remember reading somewhere that Luke decided to keep it after all.
However I could be wrong.....

Probably only Lucious knows
but you right reserve price was not met and auction ended with a bid around 11K $ At that time I though it was crazy price but now I realise that it was cheap compare to all those Fender relics (Backy, EVH, Beck Summers to name a few) and we are talking about a true Rock n Roll History guitar, one off, played and abused by the master himself not a limited copy ah ah ah ah
