I am loving my Y2D, but I don't know if I'm vibing with neck pickup

Anyone try a different neck pickup? I'm looking for a high gain pick that does liquid lead type tones

Any thoughts on that?

I´ve read that many guys here have tried different pickups, specially in the neck position.

They´ll tell you their experiences.

Also, some of them have changed the pot to a 500k one, and it seems to really open up the guitar sound...

Anyway, let the "wise man" speak :p

I personally love the pickups and the tone the way it is, but I'm always curious and searching for that tone in my head. The thing is that I love the neck pickup but mostly wanted something different for the bridge as I wanted something smoother yet high output for heavy rhythm and fat solos. I also prefer the tone of alnico mags compared to ceramic.

I went with Suhr DSH+ in the bridge and DSV in the neck with 500K pots and also added a push pull pot to split both. These are really great pickups. Really fat and articulate. Check out some videos of Andy Wood. He uses this set...was definitely a helpful deciding factor for me.

But yea, a quick solution might be to put in 500K pots first and see how you like that.
