Curious if anyone is using a wireless setup here for live application. I just bought this unit http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-X2D-XDS95.html, which is supposed to be the next step in wireless technology. Wired sound with a wireless? Not sure I believe it totally but the reviews are rather stellar. Im always tripping over cables so this will be awesome if it works out.

I've only heard great things about that system. I was looking into one myself, but I hear the rackmount system is coming out soon, FYI.

I've used one on occasion. They are VERY useful if you are on a large stage and need to walk around and cover parts with people or help get sound going out on the floor since it helps you to dial in your sound through the P.A. With the cheaper ones there is a tonal loss but the freedom of movement offsets that for the most part. And that tonal loss is rarely noticeable in the mix.

Never ever would I use one in the studio. But that's a different animal all together.

Good luck.

Have you tried George L's?

No, but I have heard of them. The Monsters have a lifetime warranty. I can't tell you how many times I have taken them back to guitar center because I rolled over the input with my desk chair and cracked the lead off. All they make you do is bring in the broken piece and they give you a new cable off the wall.

wireless is good

I use 2 transmitters. a 10 y/o samson stage 22 for the piezo. NEVER drops, but I wouldn't use it on mag pups. However, the piezo is already preamped.
On the mags I use an EV cobalt series with excellent results.
I REALLY like to move around. ALL over the stage/room.

George L's are trouble free-solderless!
Solid one piece brass ends that can be repaired on site with a screwdriver and snips (and snips only if you use the right angled plugs)

They are the nicest and most transparent cords I've ever used (I've been using them for years)

Give 'em a try-you can rewire your whole pedalboard in a snap!:)
