Hey guys. Thinking about buying my first set of coated strings for my Ray. Do these strings really last a lot longer than traditional sets? Also are they worth the difference in price. I would appreciate you voice on this subject.

I posted a thred simular to this myself a while ago, peoples preference and attitude towards coated strings differs from person to person, myself had never used coated strings of any form before i got my mits on a set of EB coated (50-105 regulars) thay broke in quickly an retained a nice even tone to this day (8 weeks and counting) there is a slightly diffrent feel to them as aposed to the standard nickle rounds, thay just feel like new still so ..... cant complain :D
best advice = get your self a set a try them out for yourself , i personaly recomend .

i agree. try them the next time you buy strings.
they feel a little different, not slippery like other brands but more dry-ish. still not like acoustic strings that may feel like glue sometimes ;)

soundwise i also find them a bit more broken in sounding at first, but the zing they got just last and last :)

I like Elixirs. They do sound more broken in to start with, and they last me for years. They are slick feeling.

But I mostly prefer flats.
