I'd rather not have the fancy pants BFR cases because you can't leave the freaking trem bar on with those cases. One of the silliest things MM has done. They make these awesome cases for their normal guitars where you can leave the bar on, and then their beautiful cases for their amazing BFR guitars get rid of one of the best features. Not cool at all and it drives me nuts having to take the bar off every time because I like it pretty tight so I have to use the allen wrench to tighten and loosen it every time I play my Luke or JP BFR. Ughhhh....I guess you can leave the bar on if you want, but it definitely touches the top of the case and the bridge gets tilted forward, which I assume is not good for the guitar to be stored like that.

Not much storage space either. Heavier too. I'm not a fan of vintage or hardshell cases. I much prefer the Musicman ABS Cases.

I didn't mind the BFR case... the one I had (The first BFR JP) has space to leave the trem bar installed, it was quite nice.....

You can leave the bar on the guitar in the BFR case. Never had an issue with that when I still used the trem. They're actually the same size looking across my room to my cases, the standard SKB Cases might be a bit larger. The BFR case is however much heavier.

They're both great cases, I don't mind either or.

There have been other threads about the trem hitting the top of the BFR case, this is not just me. Unless you have found some way to lower your trem arm, and I'm talking about lower than factory settings on a Luke and a JP, than your trem arm hits the top of the case and tilts the bridge forward. I assume this can't be ideal for your guitar to be stored with the bridge tilted forward. Perhaps it isn't too bad for the guitar, but it seems like a bad idea. Once again, this is not just me. Others have brought this issue up. When I heard others mentioning it I didn't believe them. I had been storing my guitars with the trem arm on and did not think it touched, assuming the BFR cases were like the normal MM cases, and it didn't seem like it touched. Upon closer inspection there is zero doubt that they touch the top and tilt the bridge forward. Simply pluck the strings and close the case. You'll hear the dip in pitch as the bridge tilts forward. Close it slowly. Or put a piece of tape on the tip of the arm and it will get pulled off by the lid or at least have fuzzies on it from the fabric. I just checked again to confirm. It pulls the tape right off and if you put your ear right on the ground next to where the lid meets the bottom you hear the pitch dive down. Go slowly because it doesn't happen until the last tiny bit before lid meets bottom. Didn't mean to sound upset Big Poppa, it is just frustrating because I loved that feature on the normal cases. Please understand that I'm not the only one and I didn't believe it at first myself. All of you saying that you can leave it on and it doesn't touch sound like me before I was corrected by other members of this forum. I thought for sure that it didn't touch, but the bottom line is that it does. That is why I wondered if they had changed the BFR cases.

FIrst off...how about this...send customer service your address and Ill send you a SKB case no charge. The venom was pretty funny. Now here is the deal....I wish I could use a case. NO gigs anymore. The last ones I used a gigbag.

I see where Brick is coming from - I have to take the trem bar out of my 06 LE Albert. It has the same deal with the case, which doesn't allow you to close the lid with the trem bar in situ. It's a bigger case too.

Can't wait to see the Majesty here in the UK

I must admit that being able to leave the trem bar in place may only be a small design detail but I absolutely love it. And I also used to leave the bar on my BFR until I realised via this forum that it does touch the case lid when closed.
