Are newbasses shipping with Cobalts?

My Gilded White stingray classic is being delivered on Friday. I'm wondering what strings are going on from the factory? Cobalts? Or good ole slinkys. Either way I'm super pumped to get this great white demon. I hope it's neck is as comfy as other classics I have tried.

Well, I would think that since Cobalt's are currently in production you are probably looking at some Slinky's. That would be sweet if they did start sending their instruments out with the Cobalt's. Not sure that it would be cost effective but it would be one hell of a way to get people to try'em and lov'em. Either way, you've got a damned sexy bass headed your way!

I must try these Cobalts when I get back to CA.

I asked the local music store (who carries lots of EBMM string varieties) if they were going to carry Cobalts, and the look I got was pure confusion. Owner, manager, and sales girl all had no clue. I explained and they said they would look into it.

I know where I can preorder them.. I was really just curious as to what strings are shipping on new basses. I'll probably try a set when they are available, but mostly I play flats.
