Hola,
Are the early 90's Sr5's with the Alnico pick-ups sought after, or does everyone prefer the ceramic pick-up model's? I had a white 92' fiver, and though I love my 77' Stingray cause of the alnico, the five string just was missing "that sound"..just curious.

I believe that many things make up the sound of a bass. The mass of the larger body and wider neck. The materials used in the electronics. What you hear in the 4 stringers will not be the same as the sound of the fivers...sympathetic harmonies and undertones due to the B string, fingerboard wood, etc.
No 2 will sound the same...even if they have consecutive serial numbers.

All Musicman basses are sought after...they never hang long in the "for sale" sections.

This is just my opinion...take it for what it's worth.
