How did you achieve this, did you add another spring, or did you just adjust the spring tension. Did you also have to make a slight truss rod adjustment too compensate for the non-floating ??

Okey, guys.
When we set up the Luke, the bridge is floating. When tuned to EB specs, when you hit the open G string and pull back on the trem, it should stop at A#. You should only have 2 springs on the bridge.

Personal preference, really.
I rest my right hand on the bridge and if they float it sounds warbly and out of tune.
I've had one of mine blocked.

And the piezo ones still leave the factory flat to the best of my knowledge.
They also have smooth saddles on them which I also prefer.

i just do the normal adjustments- add a 3rd spring, and just screw the trem screws in so the bridge is flush with th body. no truss rod adjusting at all. whenever i need to use the trem i just back off the screws some, easy! i'm sure the tech minded dudes here will pull me up on something i'm doing wrong though!

Thanks Pete! I do check the intonation, its always great, these guitars are just so easy to adjust, minimal problems. as for my strat....

I know this is a stupid question and i should probably be smacked for even thinking of asking this, but are these the trem screws you are talking about or are they underneath the trem ? I'm an idiot when it comes too these vintage trems.

Flip the guitar over and remove the rectangular cover - you will see the springs connected to a claw. The claw has 2 huge screws. Those are the ones you tighten (and increase the spring tenstion on the tremolo), if adding another spring isn't up your alley, or you just want to "fine tune" the feel of the trem.

The more tension you put the springs under, the tougher it will be to use the trem. If you put in 3 or 4 springs and tighten the snot out of the claw until the tremolo sits flush on the body, it's almost like having a hard-tail.
