Are you as sad as me? Do you have names for your EBMM's?

My EVH is called ............EVH (not very origional)

and my axis ss is called "flip flop" as it is half flame, half quilt.

Please tell me I am not the only one.

Yea, I always think up of names for guitars, but then I end up changing them. For my year old Ibanez I called it like 10 different things. Now it's stuck with "Red Foot" for now. It's because it's red and ummmmm......it's red.lol
My month old Silhouette is called "Mr. Burns" lol. Most people call their guitars as females, but I thought this was funny and fit the character of the guitar since it is Vintage sunburst. I guess I am a sadder case than you then. hahahha

Oh man, I should run from this thread real fast, but I've already mentioned it before...

My Petrucci is named "Susi". Compliments of my wife. Before we got married my ex-wife was talking to her and told her that in 7 years or so I would end up leaving her too for some other "little Susi". Well I wanted to play guitar my whole life and didn't so after we were married she finally said why not go for it you're not getting any younger... She wound up getting me the Petrucci as a Christmas present that year. When it showed up she said she was going to get the trem plate engraved with, "My name is Susi, and the buck stops here." Quite the comic...

Anyhow since the Petrucci had a name I gave the others names too... Not as original as the Petrucci though.

Silo - "Dawn" for the Blue Dawn finish
EVH - "Edie"
And the Morse will probably be named "Stevie"

So no, you're not the only "sad" one on the forum...

Hi, my name is Fred and I'm a loser... ;)

I dont know, but there is just something interesting to me about coming up with pointless names that I basically never use. I AM the only one pretty much that knows the guitars as those names, but if I reffer to them that way to my friends, they are like "WTF is that?" So either way they just end up being called as "red guitar" and "new guitar", LOL. I still find it fun coming up with names. Lately I've been havin a "ball"( ;) ) comin up with names for the EA game Battlefield 1942. Possibly the BEST multi player computer game EVER made. But anyway, everyone here knows the BESTEST multiplayer game EVER is jamming with our balls and with our fellow musicians :D ;)!!!

A friend of mine who is a singer songwriter and who owns several guitars, always names her guitars male names. The only one I can remember off the top of my head is a blue guitar named Howie after Howard Leese of Heart.

I like the Mr. Burns moniker. :)

My first acoustic guitar (way back in the day) I named Siggy. Because the make of the thing was Signet (yeah, a cheapie something or other). Plus I was a psych major in college (even though I think Freud was loopy).

The line "Demented and sad, but social.." from the movie "The Breakfast Club" comes to mind when I read this thread.

I have never named a guitar. I figure they probably wouldn't come when I called them, anyway.

:D

My EVH is referred to as "baby" as it took 81/2 painful months to arrive. The only other guitar that has a name is my strat - it started off as Dinky, due to the various damage on it and has now morphed into the Dinkster. My brother has a cream strat he refers to as Old Yeller which makes me laugh - we may need professional help...

one of my axis SS hardtails was named Vera (after a gun used by adam baldwin in the show "firefly") by the singer of a band I'm in. dont' know why though. somehow a sticker got put on the back of the headstock with the word "vera" on it and the name stuck - but I don't usually name my guitars.
