BP-

I've been watching a lot of Demo's on the Armada and have fallen in love with the design process and overall appeal of the guitar.

I noticed just now that with the stop bar tailpiece and tune o magic style bridge that the strings are run from the stop bar towards the back of the body and then wrapped around to the bridge.

Is this to help reduce the angle of string pull on the bridge and thus reduce string breakage or is there an added tonal advantage of stringing up the guitar in this fashion or just simply preference.

Curious to read BP's response to this as well. I know it is done on some LPs and I've read user reviews that stated it made a string gauge feel lighter - 11s feel like 10s, 10s feel like 9s, etc. I think Bonamassa has used this method as well.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the top-wrapping when I finally got to play one in person. Top-wrapping is a nice option for those that like to keep the tailpiece screwed down against the body, while minimizing the break-over angle of the string. It will make the action feel a little slinkier.
