I was just curious if there was anyway of tracking when my two EB's (a Petrucci and Silhouette Special) will be arriving. I have tried to check with my dealer, but they always say "I'll have to get back to you tomorrow" but they never do. It's been 3 times now. I'm tired of asking them and not getting anywhere.

Is there anyone at EB that could help me find out?

Here
It is really difficult, and time consuming to check where a certain instrument is in the building process. Plus, if they checked for you, they(customer service) would be overwhelmed with requests making their lives a living hell.

You wouldn't want that would you?

Good things come to them that wait...and bad things come to those that tick off Jon. :p

Heh. I'd suggest that you just hang back for a bit. They'll get there, and the wait will be worth it. Cool? :)

EDIT: retracting my statement about calling EBMM on it...it's a PITA for them to find that info...just hang tight! :)

I thought a job in customer service was the definition of "life in hell" - at least it is around where I work (fortunately for me, I work in a different department - we make the guns that people shoot themselves in the foot with! <LOL> :D).....:p........

Ya'll are cracking me up...

koogie2k, here are the specs:

1. Petrucci: Black, matching headstock, piezo, no inlay, only six strings (I would need finger extensions to play the seven)
2. Silhouette Special: Vintage Sunburst, matching headstock, piezo, HSS, and er, I guess that's it.

dwf1004: I'll wait...be patient, be patient, yes, yes, be patient, I will. :(

PurpleSport: Uh, yeah, I forgot about when I worked in customer service. I hate being yelled at and not defending myself, so that was misery. I did learn something interesting about talking to people from different areas of the country. If I was talking to someone from NY, they wanted to hurry up and talk faster. If I was talking to someone in Texas, they wanted me to slow down and talk slower. Pretty funny huh? :D

Thanks jongitarz...

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of making people's lives a living hell, so I won't.

Uh...I suppose I may have possibly been guilty of that on my last SP order, dunno.

I'm keeping my mouth closed on this one. ;)

KEI...I mean, Marlee Matlin.

(would helen Keller have been funnier?)

E-Baller,

I am waiting for a Petrucci as well.. ordered at the beginning of September. At that time, they guesstimated late November for completion. I've been tempted to call EBMM and track it down, but I read a similar posting from Jon a few weeks back, and decided to leave the poor folks alone.

It's hard to wait so long for such a cool toy. It's a shame that EBMM can't track 'em through production more readily, so that we could stay 'in the loop' without pulling EBMM staff from their duties. Maybe one of us can come up with a system whereby each guitar is tracked via a database as it moves through each step in production, and let us query that data from the web?

I think Jon would appreciate a similar system for looking up guitar specs by serial number.. his life would be much easier if we could use this web site to enter a serial number and get back the DOB, model, and original color of the corresponding guitar.

Interesting tidbit

I checked the stock for my local EBMM dealer (via this web site) 2 days ago and they didn't have any Petrucci's listed.

Now, today, a Pet with all the characteristics of the one that I ordered is mentioned in their inventory!

I wonder if this means that it shipped from EBMM, or if it might even indicate that it has arrived at my dealer!

The other day when I called them, they had gotten in a Luke that morning. It was already mentioned in the Inventory page when I went to check.

At any rate, it looks like I'll have my baby soon. Make some room on the HD for pics!

Funny indeed! I'm a military brat of Southern extraction with nary a hint of an accent to my voice - worked out after countless moves around the country - so I know exactly what you're talking about. What's funny for me is that in similar situations I have a tendency to wind up talking like whatever accent is on the other end of the line! :)

I'd have a really hard time working in customer service all day with people who have attitudes. I'm pretty good at calming upset folks down and helping out if they have a problem, but also don't suffer fools glady if they're out of line and insufferable!

I am really psyched just to know that I'm close to having my new axe. I only have a junky digital camera, so I'll do my best with it and post after she arrives.

I did buy my wife a *nice* new digital camera for Christmas, and it should be here tomorrow.. maybe I can test it? Haha.. no, I'll wait and maybe she'll let me snap some better pics after Christmas.

well, the camera came... but the guitar, *sigh*

I did pop in at my dealer today, since I had a vacation day from work.

The guitar dept. manager (who is a great guy) calculcated that my Petrucci will probably arrive tomorrow, since I will be back at work and unable to spend the whole day playing it. ;)
