a rightwing extremist gunned down 85 people, mostly youths between 15-25 years.

there has been a state of grief i have never seen before. everywhere people are crying, there is a silence everywhere even in the most crowded city streets..

but still there are positive things coming out of this. there seem to be a consensus amongst people that this shall be turned to something positive. the twitter feed is filled with sensible, compassionate and intelligent people and i think it has just made people come closer to each other.

i have had serious sleep deprivation the latest days and i really really wish i was at home and could grab my sr4 fretless to take my mind of these bad things for a little while.
i cant imagine how it feels for the families and victims, but i hope they too can find their "instrument to go to and take their mind off the bad things for a little while"

please send your good vibrations over to those who need it the most at these times...

I am so saddened for this to happen anywhere..but it is especially hard due to the peaceful spirit of the Nowegians. After all this is the home of the Nobel Peace Prize and a country where the police do not wear guns.

I'm so sorry that this happened. It's just really sad that people in this world are going crazy and trying to play god with people's lives. My thoughts are with the Norwegian people during this tragic time. It's just not right what happened.....

Peace and love to all who suffered.

Our family prayers went out to you and your country tonight. So much violence in the world. This kind of thing needs to stop, it happens all too often.

Really horrific news, Mr M we share Norway's grief.

It must surely rank among the world's most horrific single incidents, even more so that it could be perpetrated by one seemingly misguided soul, in such a peaceful country.

They had to come out with an estimate. The reported "8-10" didn't reflect the reality that met the police when they arrived, in a very chaotic situation. The shootings were on an island, people tried to get away in the cold water, dead people on the ground. They had to produce an estimate which would more accuratly reflect the gravity of the situation. Thank god they had to adjust the numbers down instead of up.

Sincere condolences, it's a terribly sad loss and waste of precious and potent life, especially being youngsters with everything still out in front of them. I have to wonder some times if we don't all share the blame for these things. They're isolated and distorted events, yet they are indicative characteristics of the present state of our human family. Each person has the responsbility to shape social institutions for the good of mankind - especially those of us who enjoy so many priviledges and freedoms - which would in turn reduce the occurence of these social tumors. Every single sociopath like this guy is a function of our collective failure in that regard ... IMO. "Be the change you want to see" ... all that.
