The pickus are pretty amazing huh!?! EBMM is using them more and more. PB must be really proud of these bad boys! The sound so different in my RW ASS than in the 25th with maple board. For some reason in the 25th I am loving the parallel tones. Any one else loving these pickups?

Really? I have an all-rosewood ASS, and that's my favorite position. I play blues, and gigged for years plugged straight into a Mesa Blue Angel, pup selector in the middle slot. Sort of like a fat Tele-meets-'58 Korina Flying V with both pups selected in the same position, but with more bottom and a very sweet top end.

Solos really cut through the mix, but the bite is never offensive. My wife can pick me out of the mix when she is in the parking lot based on that sound alone. She describes it as "rain drops gently falling" when I solo in that position.

Nails early clean Albert King tone, in the vein of Peter Green, Bloomfield clean LP -> Twin tone. With the volume knob down, the middle slot is my fave rhythm tone.

I've raved elsewhere on how the old blues singers I back have never heard of EBMM, but love my Rosy as soon as they hear it. That middle position is the secret weapon with those pickups. I have an original EVH, and discovering the middle position was the sound that made me get 3(!) ASS's, including the magic Rosy.

I would love to hear these new AL HH's with the mahogany body and rosewood necks, actually more intriguing to me than the 25th for the style I play.

I love the pups in my 25th. Great, balanced tone out of them. The parallel settings are definitely where it's at with the 25th, too.

I also love the bridge pup in series with vol & tone at max. Just a great, edgy, rock & roll tone there.

I agree: middle position on the ASS and 25th is amazing. The other positions are wonderful also, but that middle position is so sweet.

I was A/B ing my ASS and 25th anniversary today and notice that the 25th is slighly lower outpup than the ASS, did someone notice that also? and can it be because of the chrome cover or just me being too old :)

Yes I'm pretty sure the chrome covers reduce the output slightly. I've read a lot of threads all over the place on that. When I played the 25th at a GC, I noticed they seemed to have a bit less output, but still sounded awesome. I prefer medium output pickups anyway for the clarity especially when using high gain. I do like the high and fat output of the regular bridge pup in the ASS/Axis. I have a guitar with a Tone Zone and I think it's pretty close. I dont know why people bug out over the Tone Zone being muddy and all...its a great fat tone machine. Great for leads and rhythm.

yep it's a fantastic my number one at the moment but was really surprised by the difference between the ASS and the 25th.

I think sonically this guitar is perfect!

My 25th's tone still rivals the rest of my clan(same pups, supposedly). There's something about that guitar that "outshines" the others. I don't know what it is. If some of you really senior guys are suggesting that the pup's are different than the Ass/Axis, I believe it. They are different.

No I believe the PUPs are the same but the rendering is just something else. I'm not a metal guy anyway :) so the 25th is perfect for the type of music I play
