I have one question for you Y2D owners. Does the lack of contour on the body bother you at all?
No, in fact I like it- forces my wrist and hand to be in a good position.

It's no different than the Axis in that regard- lots of guys like them and there's no top contour.

I guess that's true, it probably is similar to the Axis. I was comparing it more to the SUB1, but perhaps that isn't a fair comparison.

I would really really love to try one out in person, but they seem to be pretty rare in these parts. (Even though I am only 4 hours from SLO).

It's here....

Well, she arrived at about 2:45pm EDT. The thing looks like it just rolled out of the EBMM factory. I just finished installing my DiMarzio cliplock strap. I have a rehearsal and sound check tonight. I'll run'er through a bit and see what she can do....

More later.....

That's funny Butch, mine arrived today at about the same time, courtesy of marillion-freak. :)

I know you were. I think though, that my response might have come off as a little defensive...

BTW, the tone of the SM-Y2D is like none other...

I tried mine last night too Butch...and I agree the tone is simply amazing even through my crappy Marshall MGHDFX100 head.

I no longer have a need for my Gibson LP. It either gets tucked away for good for future resale (2 year old daughter just got ahold of it a few weeks back and put a nasty pen size gash on the bottom) or I just bite the bullet and sell it now.
