Audley Freed stopped by this afternoon to the EB plant in lovely Coachella.

Audley is a member of Peter Frampton's band who are playing at the casino close by.

We gave him a taste of the EL Mexicali cafe, in which no crumbs were left behind.

An EB endorser since 1993 when Cry Of Love signed their deal with Sony that same year. Playing in the Crowes he did a tour playing side by side with Jimmy Page.

While in our grasp, he tried the Petrucci BFR and SIL 20th both of which he liked very much!

He's one of my favs! Cry of Love's stuff is insane! I saw him with Doyle Bramhall II in Nashville...I didn't recognize him though, because I had never seen pictures or videos...The Doyle said, "Please welcome Audley Freed!" WOW!

There was a question thread started over on TGP a while back and the question posed went something like:

"What's the best S***t tone ever recorded ?"

Now in amongst the usual flurry of Hendrix, Clapton, SRV I felt compelled to put aside my regular Dave Gilmour/ Jeff Beck obsession and nominate Audleys playing and tone on Cry Of Love's Brother album, for me it's THE definitive blues rock single coil tone.

Next time he stops by the office sling an AL around his neck. I bet he'd make it scream.

Oh Man - Cry Of Love,

If ever a band should have been huge.........

Both albums are faves of mine - Brother has touch and tone in spades.
