How did you lose the paint by the neck pocket?

I looked at the auction, not knowing it was a forumite, and that was the one question that I would definitely want answered if I were considering buying it - and I DID consider it for one insane moment.

At that price, I wouldn't expect it to be cosmetically perfect, however.

Jack i bought the bass and the paint was missing there already.The paint job on the bass is orange peel, maybe jon can explain.How and why this happens.I already own six other musicman basses... This one made seven.As the wife said to me your starting to take over my side of the room
