Mingus / Andrew, the bass is lovely but I must say, I am more knocked out by the fantastic and peaceful view surrounding your patio / balcony.

What a great place to live in. I am envious.

I have to say Cabarnet looks great on a SR5. I saw a show the other day at a big free outdoor stage and there was a girl who had one. I couldn't tell what the colour was at the time ("is that brown, red or honeyburst?"), but now it all makes sense. It looks especially good with the rosewood neck.

After having a chance to play my new bass for a few days, I'm really loving it. There's certainly a noticeable difference between the Alnico pickups in the BFR and the Ceramic magnets in my HH Ray 5. They both sound great, strike that, AMAZING but the alnico is closer to the classic Stingray vibe I'm really fond of and have heard on so many great recordings. I also really like all of pickup options on the HS. On my HH, I pretty much stick to setting 3(both humbuckers) or the 1(bridge humbucker) but I think I'll use the switch more with the HS. The single coil does a surprisingly good P bass impression and I also like that the bass is wired in parallel.
