Help! avatar

ok..someone please help me load my avatar!.. it's the proper size, upload from my pc desktop..why wont it accept it?..any help? thanks

have you checked that its within these limits?

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 732.4 KB (whichever is smaller).

Get a photobucket account and paste the direct link, it'll help you resize it.

i tried phot bucket, still no luck uploading..do i have to post so many times before i can load an avatar? eventually i'll get it figured out..any help would be appreciated

No you don't have to post a number of times to be able to this is what you do step by step, please follow me...

1. top line of the screen, click on UserCP
2. Left of the screen, under Settings & Options, click on Edit Avatar
3. You now have 2 options you can either paste a link from photobucket or similar free online photo host, or you can browse your disc for a picture directly from your computer, however option 2 requires that your pics fit these parameters i.e.: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 732.4 KB (whichever is smaller). You can edit and resize your pics with MS Paint, open a pic and then click on Image Sketch/Skew and adjust the percentage of the images to fit.
4. Click on Save Changes and that should be it.

thank you captmoto..i have followed those steps verbatim, with no luck. all it does is return with NO avatar in place. i will keep trying.

In that case I suggest you send a pm to Chewie, he is the IT Guru here, make sure you mention which type of computer you have, i.e. mac or pc, what kind of os i.e. XP / Vista / Linux and if you have a very restrictive firewall / antivirus software. And without offence intended, just how computer savvy are you? I mean do you know your way around the features of your pc?

I'm having trouble uploading one too, can anyone help? Like the OP's, mine is well within the limits. Every single time it fails.
