Did you guys see the powder blue Albert Lee with MOPloid pg?

THe show was really a money losing disappointment....but when it turned into a bass love fest I forgot how much money I lost...I guess it is like the high roller in Vegas who loses and then finishes the trip off with a red head with amnesia....klind of forgets for awhile the bad stuff.

While I'm sorry to hear about the attendance, the above is too funny; making lemonade from lemons; nice playing as well

Sad to hear the show was a disappointment this year. I got to go today, since NAMM opened one day to the public. The turnout seemed pretty good. I wasn't jam-packed, but seemed like every vendor had a few people visiting.

I don't know if letting the public in was or wasn't a good idea. I love getting a look at what companies like EBMM are coming out with, but it's an industry trade show. It's geared more towards vendors, distributors, and sales people.

Hopefully Nashville with return Summer NAMM to its former luster. Metro Nashville is building a huge new covention center that will blow our current one away. It was very odd to not see other larger vendors like Fender and Gibson, though I could understand why Gibson wasn't up for it this year.

For what it's worth BP, thanks for having EBMM there this year. Got to visit briefly with Angelo, and saw Derek, Dan, and Pat there. I was too busy playing about every Reflex and HH AL you had there. Great stuff!!

Classic Stingray kickin' an A**!

First Ed Friedland's demo, now BP's soloing on the maple FB, ...great tone indeed!

Damn, ...I can't buy them both at the same time, I mean reflex and Classic!

That's gonna be a very difficult decision!

Sweet nightmare is approaching! :p

I was at the show for about an hour. The show wasn't great, but I stopped by the EBMM booth and played a HSS Reflex 5, a single H Reflex, a Big Al 5 with 3 single coils, and a couple classic Rays. All great instruments and the classic gold color sure is sweet.

Question about the reflex (which is now causing me Gas!), why is the string retainer different from the ones used on a stingray?

I swear, if those Reflex basses have the Bongo electronics, I am going to drop my "I will play a Bongo for the rest of my life" pledge, and mix in a 5-string Reflex. Those are GORGEOUS!

Well, it has the Bongo 4 band EQ and the Bongo neck profile. The humbuckers are ceramic, but the single coils are neo like the Bongos.

The Reflex uses different tuners (smaller) than the other Musicman basses, that string retainer helps to push the strings down a little better.

BTW BP what distortion were you using in that video? Or was it just the camera mic distorting?

That clip seem to focus way too much on the drummer.

:D

What was wrong with the amp? Jeez, sounded purdy good in Texas. I've just added your man Shannon to my list of drummers I should play with before I die.

So now there are two of them.

Jack, you gotta watch that video in HD... there you can actually see the bass player's foot tapping ;) ... and that the bass is a Classic StingRay.

Anyway, great sound, phantastic playing! Love your style!

thanks broham! the amp just sounds like mudddd to me. they completely ignored our gear requests and brought us the worst chinese crap they could find, when we specifically asked for the good chinese crap.
