Years ago, I bought a Burnt Apple SR4 from some kid on the other side of Texas. EBay deal, as I recall.

When the bass arrived, he'd shut the latches, put a shipping label on the case and sent it on its way.

No box, no packing, no nothing.

And you know - it was fine.

Scary when it showed up, though!

Wow, that's impressive!

And Sounie, yeah was a little bit worried but when i saw the case had no damage itself I felt alright about it.

OH WOW!!! i always worry about stuff like that when i buy "used" off of ebay. I wonder what some of these guys are thinking when then ship it out like that. The best packed guitar i've ever received was when Fing shipped me a guitar i picked up from him...

Calm down now... Einatmen... Ausatmen... breath in... breath out...

Dont worry, the cases are so good, nothing will happen to your Schatz. My 25th survived bagage handlers at both Las Vegas and Houston airports. It got scuffed up pretty good but the bass was just fine.

I bought a guitar on ebay from a guy in the US who did that - shipped it in nothing but the case - there was a combination lock on it and he sent me the number by email, but for what ever reason the number didn't work so I had to sit for an hour or so starting at 0-0-0 until it opened.

Hey everyone, thanks again for the compliments.

And just to reiterate, again, I am totally happy with the bass. I played it for about 3 hours straight yesterday, which is a lot for me since I'm a guitar player and not as used to bass strings and bass playing in general. I am having a lot of fun on my new bass. My post was not meant to slam anyone at either MF.com or UPS, it was meant to show the durability of the EBMM case and bass. I have ordered lots and lots from MusiciansFriend, never had one bad experience, I'm sure something happened en route for the package to look like it did when it arrived and for what it's worth, nothing even happened to the exposed end of the case, so well done for UPS in that regard.

Thanks!

There is something so cool about a battered case. Not sure what but you KNOW that has some serious miles on it.

Yeah yer right . Here's mine - haven't used it since I bought my first ball in 2005.
