I have an AX40D that I am doing some mods to. I was thinking of putting a Gotoh 1996T locking trem in. Has anyone done this. I also want to replace the locking nut. The site says it's a 42MM. I measured it and it's pretty close to that but was wondering if a 1-5 /8" nut would work? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I must say as I have done extensive mods on my ax40, the hardware is pretty damn good! The bridge and nut are very stable, i would do the refinish on the neck, and new toggle switch and pups ( unless you already have the ax40 D) i have the old ax40 and had to buy the axis dimarzios to put in.

These are by FAR the best imports ever made, with the right mods done correctly it is scary close to a real axis, in feel, tone and look!
