cool I didn't know they came out with a new model. will there be two models standard and ultra like before?

nope. From what i gather the ultra will no longer be in production--seems to be the AXE II is the new high end model to take over...but you never know what's comin down the pipe in terms of future development...heck as far as many of us knew, there was no plans from Fractal to develop something beyond the Ultra. the problem is that Cliff has gotten everyone so used to being part of the equation with integrating user feedback into upgrades etc...that users forgot they are not actually part of the internal group of developers and have come to assume that Cliff will divulge his 5 year business plan. The guy has a business, and what company indiscriminately releases their future plans before it is official! sorry, I digress...been on the Fractal forum a lot this week.

The first time I ever even heard about the AXE-FX was in the summer as they were showing me this guy on Youtube who did a 4 video demo playing solos from the 50s and every following decade to present day. I have to say it nailed the tones incredibly, what I dont understand is what can the new model do that the other one cannot, play the guitar on auto pilot.

That's always the problem with digital stuff (computers, phones, effects for guitar) : if you don't own the latest version, you are a loser ... What ? you don't own the latest I-Pad ???

That's exactly the contrary with analog stuff : if you own a brand new tube amp, you are a loser ... but of course if you own an old tube amp from the '60s, you're a real man !

at some point you have to be "OK" with falling behind the curve.
It still comes down to about 4 sounds anyway.

many thank's
it's the only way i've found to have a good sound with the AXE

would like to return on a real preamp....(egnater M4) and use the axe fo fx only

:)

really???

doesn't that go against the whole concept?? It's suppose to be one-stop-shopping.

Sometimes I wish I was a drummer. There isn't much to do when they get GAS. Buy some sticks??

I won't say our drummer had it as bad as I did, but he sure bought a whole lot of pots, pans and assorted flat metals to hit on as well :D

I wouldn't count on that being typical. While there will be more for sale than in the past, I suspect that is is a surge as current owners sell off to but the AFX2. In a few months I'd expect to see 1/4-1/3 of that at most.

What I said earlier ... if you don't have the last version, you suck ...
It's really strange because most of the guys who are selling the version 1 did not try yet the version 2. Why are they selling ?
Albert Lee is still using a Korg A3 (it's something like 20 years old ...).
It's funny because on all the forums the Axe users say "The Axe is perfect" but now they are selling ... thus the Axe 1 was no so perfect ???

Because they're crazy, or something...I have no plans to sell my Standard and it still beats anything else by at least a mile as far as my ears are concerned. Funny how those folks who are selling all felt the same way, until Fractal released the II. Now their ultra is just another pod wannabe-yeah right!
Axe-fx 1 is perfect.

Wonder what all those sellers are going to do for gigs until the Axe II ships? Still a couple of weeks away....
