At least I'm not suggesting a guitar covered in duct tape like another company did.. ;)

So, yes.. I am serious. I think it'd be cool.

A hollowbody Petrucci would be sick. By the way, I used to "play test" those duct tape guitars every day and I get the heebie jeebies just thinking about em. Yuck!

I'll put my vote in for a hollowbody axis. Keep the flat-top unless it's done with a 24 3/4" scale.

Arch-top Axis?

Yes, I would consider dumping all my non-Balls (yes, there are still one or two) for one with nice maple top, f-holes, rosewood board, and either chambered mahogany or alternate build for body ....:D:D:D

cheers always, eh

Not to Hijack, but I think an axis with a drop for the forearm like the silos and Als would creat the pefect guitar -

I have asked this question before, but nobody seems to know the answer. I am sure that when I saw Van Halen supporting Bon Jovi at Wembley Stadium many years ago, Mr Van Halen was using a hollow body EBMM EVH. Is this true? I am sure it had circular holes in it, and he played it on 'Cant stop loving you'

Yeah, a carved top Axis would be awesome. But a regular production model, not a BFR. The regular Axis tops are beautiful as they are. Don't think there is need to make it a BFR model.

Also, I'd love to see what EBMM would do with an f-hole hollowbody Axis. I think that would look great. Wouldn't it Joel?:D;)

Tim, can you describe it in more detail?

Well, as I said, EVH played it on the song 'Can't stop loving you'. It was definitely an EVH guitar, but it had an amber or natural body. It had holes in it like an Ovation, and from what my memory serves me, they were situated on the face of the guitar by the strap button. I have never heard of this guitar being mentioned, and as EVH was playing EBMM at the time (this is pre Peavey) I don't think it was another makers guitar. I am sure I did not dream it!

I think EB would have to design a whole new guitar for a hollow body. To have a semihollow body JP or Axis kind of would be lame considering the pickups in those guitars. I mean, the idea of a hollow body would be to get a different sound entirely. It would need totally different pickups to get the sound desired. At least I'm guessing.
