Axis Big Block Floyd upgrade question

If I upgrade the Floyd on my Axis with a brass Big Block will it limit the amount dive that is possible? I recently bought an AX40 with a brass block and it won't dive at all. The block is in the way. I'm wondering if it's an incorrect block. The tone does seem to be improved, and I'd love to add them to all three of my Axi, but not at the expense of greatly limited dives.

I did a forum search and couldn't find anything about this specific question. So who has installed a Big Block and how much did it effect dive? Can you still drop the strings to the fretboard?

Also, is there a huge difference between titanium and brass? Titanium is so light, it seems to me that brass would actually do a better job.

I was thinking of this upgrade too. If there's a block that fits better and allows full range of motion, I want to know which one it is.

I haven't experienced titanium vs brass yet but Ive read about everything you possibly could. Titanium isn't a dense as brass but is said to increase brightness/treble. bigger Brass blocks can add more low end umph and more resonance. If you are worried about adding a bigger brass block with limited floyd travel you can look into tungsten. Tungsten is more dense than brass and can add the same type off low end/ resonance increase in a smaller package

I bought a big brass block from Andy at Floyd Upgrades. No problems diving all the way down till the strings are slack.

DAAAAMMMMNNNN look at that block! Those dont look like stock springs? Was it a big difference from the stock block. I may do a tungsten for my axis tribute

Thanks for the information, very helpful, especially the photo. That's exactly what I needed to know. I'm going to order one for my number 1 Axis. If it works as well as I hope I'll get them for the others.
