Today I just received my first music man Axis; I did buy used.

Looks like the bridge is not sitting flat on the body, but is angled upward. In reading the set up guide- is it safe to adjust the posts with full string tension?

Why are you adjusting the posts? action adjustment on the Axis should be accomplished using neck shims. The bridge should be "decked" on the body, which is how it was designed to be, and the posts should not really be raised or lowered.

The guitar has a tremolo no on it. I tried tightening the springs to bring the bridge back but it didn’t really seem to move it toward the body. I think I need another spring.

I get that. There shouldn’t be wild movements. However the setup guide literally says to adjust them.

It should be a simple thing. If it’s not decked, just go inside the Tremelo cavity and screw the retaining clip for the springs so that they pull more, it should be easy to do. Not sure but you might not be able to get what you need with two springs, I always use three springs to pull it down to get it level on the deck.
