Hi, all. I've had an Axis SS (HH) for several months. I love it except for one thing: when I'm playing, the high E string regularly gets trapped under the lip of the neck pickup. I've adjusted my playing to try to accommodate, but just something about my playing style puts it there, requiring me to pull it back out at times (hopefully not when it's really obvious -- plink - plink - plink)

Anyone else have this problem? Any remedies?

One thing I can think of is simply find a neck pup with a cover -- any recommendations?

Welcome aboard! Do it the "Vai" way - he has this problem because of his hard picking as well. Just put a piece of tape on the lip of the pickup, and close the gap between it and the pick guard.

Also, consider other obvious solutions - lower the neck PU's height, or just try not to pick as hard :)

Yep, not unusual!!! I've always had that problem with all brands of guitar, however, I just pop it back out.

The concern for me is that I never wanted to "damage" the pickup, and I could always get back to song without to much notice.
