Some of you are probably running to go check your Axis after reading this.

On my second Axis back it 05 (my first was an ASS), the Floyd Rose trem had the standard MusicMan engraved on the side and on the top was engraved “Licensed Under Floyd Rose Patents”.

My new Axis as well as my 3 previous Axis guitars have this engraved... “High Stability Tremolo System”

Whats the difference? Is there a difference?

No fear, I have one of each and they are the same.
Just new wording.
The parts are all the same and the Gotoh trem is the BEST!:D

I believe Floyd Rose's patents have expired so they (and anyone else who produced a licenses bridge) no longer need to state "Licensed Under Floyd Rose Patents" on the bridge. I'm sure the patents were applied for circa 1983-1985 and the patent term is 20 years from the date they are granted so the term should have been up sometime between 2005 and now.
