Hi
I was wondering if there were any plans to produce the Axis Hardtail again?

I like the swtiching on the Axis but dont find myself using a trem so much these days.

Keep it live!!

Dude, the Supersport is the same thing.
If you have to have it in a 3 way get switch rewired.

I wish they would start making them again. The switching is much nicer than the blade 5-way and the lack of a tone control is a bonus.

Best EBMM guitar ever!

Amen. If you really wanted a hardtail Axis, you could always install a tremol-no and remove the locking clamps at the nut.

I don't think that would be a good alternative at all.
Hardtail supersport or even a trem supersport with the springs tight would do just as well. Switch can be rewired but theres no point really, Supersport is a far superior guitar to the Axis/EVH.
On that note I cant wait to get my floyd axis back from my tech!! lol

However there are hardtail axis and evh's popping up on ebay every now and then.
I think there is a red axis or evh on ebay just now thats a hard tail.

Not to hijack the thread, but my fingers are crossed for the return of the original Axis Sport, i.e. no top/binding, natty headstock, fixed brigde optional, in various single coil and/or humbucker options. Simple, functional, and a bit more affordable.

Thanks Big Poppa for clearing that up.

Seems a shame they didn't sell. I wonder if they would fair a bit better these days.
Is it me? but as we move further away from the 80's, early 90's era, do you think less and less guitarists use the floyd trems?
Perhaps the guitar was just too synonymous with the trem era due to the influences of its original endorsee?

Gathering dust? Ouch!

Mine gets played constantly! Seems to be my go to axe for 'in front of T.V.' noodling.

I do agree with the switching thought though - I prefer a toggle to a blade and wish my ASS+P was a toggle for the MM90's... Just think it would be a little more consistent - like the Silo Aniversary's. For the HB versions I'd have a coil tap on the tone pot by choice.

Never use the tone on my ASS+p or my Luke 2 either. Also not a fan of the standard knobs on most instruments - I must've spent a small fortune on chrome plated brass units to replace the s***t / speed knobs!

Oh crap - I've just realized how picky I really am!

They are great guitars if you can get your hands on one. They occasionally pop up on eBay for a decent price.

I've owned a couple, though they've gone on to other forum members in my never-ending quest for my perfect guitar.

Ah Applemac so you own the amber Axis hardtail...many moons ago I owned that one. Agree with Smelly it is a lovely neck on that one...and sounds brighter than the floyd Axis', very nice. Glad its still in the forum family...

Yep, It's also stayed in the UK too! Not continued on a world tour like some axes seem to!

It gets a regular plank spanking from my stubborn digits whenever I have the time - love it cranked through my Trem-O-Verb with no effects...

It even sounds good through my Tascam DP-02 with it's inbuilt effects. One day I shall record something worthy of an upload. I'm just a shy 'bedroom player' at heart.

Nice photos of it on your website by the way, made me look at my old pics of it and made me realise just how much my guitar collection has changed since!

You should bring it with you for the UK forum bash in London later this year. ;)
