I think (being dangerous now...:) ) it is birdseye maple and it is unfinished. If anyone knows for sure, post it pleases..

It looks like a standard issue Axis so that would be a birdseye neck.

I can't tell at all what that neck is from the picture. Generally, the Axis comes with a birdseye maple neck. I have seen some, but very few with a flame maple neck. I have never seen an Axis with no figuring on the neck, or "plain".

odds are its birdseye. i've never seen a plain maple neck on a EB/MM instrument. my axis neck has slight flamming in it and tones of birdseye. i would say its a birdseye neck and its a slight possibility you might luck out and see some flame. enjoi!
