Man ,those are some nice looking guits. I came so close to buying a used quilt purple EVH about 3-4 yrs ago at GC. Just was the wrong time though.

Still thinking purple but with p90's and vintage trem maybe.

Problem with purple.....not an option anymore I believe...may have to go to e-bay and hope to find one there.

That on PBB with flames is absolutely stunning.......

How flexible is the vintage trem on the Axis SS? I'm thinking I might have to go the SS route because of the rosewood fretboard. Can it alter the pitch lower and higher, or just lower? All I need really is for it to be able to go a whole step lower and at least a little higher so I can do some crazy vibrato type stuff with the bar. Does the SS vintage trem compare to any other EBMM trems, like the Petrucci at all? My Petrucci trem is perfect, has all the versatility I would need in a trem.

Those are some nice pics Foggy!

The MM vintage trem on the super sport is the same as the bridge on the Silo and the Luke. It is set up to float on the Luke. I own that trem on a Silo and have it resting on the body. I think it stays in tune better and if you break a string the others stay in tune.

The Floyd Rose on the Axis does not float.

I have my Luke and Silo set up to float and it stays in tune just fine. It might get a little out of tune if you really go crazy with it, but other than that it works very well for me and Lukather as well. The Axis is also set up to rest on body, so either way you would have to loosen the springs to get it off the body, but than if a string breaks there is a lot of crap to deal with. As you can read, I LOVE the MM trem and dont like locking trems much at all. But I guess if you use the trem A LOT than there is no other way to go I guess.

The Axis floyd is amazing. Very very stable and it isn't that bad. The labor is worth it.
