Axis Sport DOB

I know there's been quite a few of these threads, but I have two Axis Sports, and would like to know when they were made. I think one may be a very early model, because it has a different neck shape and neck plate to my newer Axis Sport.

The older guitars serial is A80862

The newer guitars serial is G06158

OH MY GOD!!! My Axis Sport has the serial #A80881.
Does your older Sport have a 3-layer plastic pick-guard over the pickups?
