Hi guys,

I'm just wondering about what really sets the Axis Sports apart...
Recently there have been some on the german EEK-BAY and one could get the impression that these were low-cost versions only.
Could anybody give a short resumé on Axis Sport essentials such as woods, PUs & history ?!

Thank you so much !

...your unillumined Silo-Playa

On the earliest Sport models (I don't know the date sorry) you could get pickup configurations of HH, HSS or SSS.

Both the HSS and SSS versions had the silent circuit fitted. These models also had the pickguards, which were later dropped from the range.

Great, this already helps a lot.
Apparently there are currently quite a few Axis Sport even on german Eek-Bay...
...but also at least one older one in the States still featuring that pickguard thang.

So far - so good.

I'm evaluating :)

Thanks to everybody for the input !!!

a Sport with the mm90s :) .the ash body and those p/ups make for a sweet guitar. I've owned 2 Sports and played another couple and all 4 had the chunkiest necks I've yet played on MM guitars.Put me off before when I had the black h/s/s but with the one I got now (mm90) it just seems like another bit of added vibe.(well that and the fact its got nice flame:D )

I had a Sport. Very nice guitar. The neck wasn't at all chunky, but it had the usual asymmetrical Axis shape. I prefer the Silo Sp C shape neck, so I sold it.

Love my Axis Sport, go for it. I agree 100%, I love the looks better than the Axis or ASS.
