Anybody out there know the last year that the axis sport was available with a pickguard?

My 2002 Sport came w/an uninstalled shell pickguard and the screws. I have never
seen another Sport with one of these shell guards. I have mostly seen all black or creme Sport pickguards.
I have never mounted it on the gtr as I prefer the look of the gtr w/o a guard.

I think they were installed as standard from 1997-99. There was a re-jig of the range mid '99, where the SSS and HSS models were dropped. This was the time that the pickguards stopped being installed as far as I can remember. Could be wrong though, usually am.
