Just wondering about whether these pickups will fit easily in the pickup route for my Axis Sport? I'm away from the guitar on holiday, and I'm leaning more towards these than the L500s. I have Wilde Noiseless T pickups in my Tele and they're truly the dog's bollocks as it were, so I want some humbuckers that are as close as possible to their character.

In inches it's 2.7559 x 1.5039.

The part I'm most concerned about is the corners are sharper on the L90s, so I'm not sure if they'll fit that part of the route, as it's pretty rounded.

Has anybody had experience putting these pickups in or know the exact dimensions of the route itself please?

Hello

On my ASS, the P90 measure 85 mm x 35 mm.
The routing is of course a bit larger but it is too narrow for your pickup.

(I guess it is the same for an Axis Super Sport and an Axis Sport)

Ah okay, thank you all for weighing in! I suspect that the L500R and L500C will be comparable to those either way, just less of the "Filtertron" vibe, but to be honest, they'll still be a hell of a lot cheaper than a set of Dimarzio EJ Customs (my initial pick).

I have a router and some decent chisels, but it's not worth damaging the finish.

Yeah it's a shame that they don't make small concessions like that, size wise. Can't say I've ever seen one uncovered, so I don't know if they need to be that shape. They look great installed though, so it's a bit disappointing, but the L500s will look nice with the chrome hardware with the casing and everything!

I've used them in other guitars (the L90s) and enlarged the pickguards to fit. Really great pickups. The L500s too. Really, all of the BL offerings.
