axis sport pickups

Hello out there.I bought a 97 axis sport HSS recently,and really like the sound it gives..different enuf from the sil special to call it * different*.Anybody know what the pickups are..sorry no pics,but they are original.

Same exact pickups that come with the standard Axis or super sport. Custom Dimarzios.

The guitar has 2 single coils,and a humbucker.Yes,the bridge humbucker is the same as the axis..it*s those 2 singles I*m curious about.They aren*t like later Dimarzios..like on the sil special..the pole pieces are staggered at different heights,and the pickups are not adjustable.They have a very good sound...

I've wondered what they were as well. CS would know (they're closed Fridays), or you could email Dimarzio- they'll probably get back to you pretty quickly.

Alf, check the resistance of that humbucker. I bet it isn't even close to the resistance of my Axis guitars. If you are talking about the green axiss sport, i LOVED the humbucker in that guitar. Far more of a PAF sound than what is stock in my Axis.

I have another sport with the HH config,and the humbuckers are the same...I am talking about the green sport,and I really dig the singles on it...have contacted CS..should get a reply next week.the sounds from that guitar are right in the pocket..for my type of music...which apparantly is amazingly freaky...glad I locked on to the little green sport.

Sorry about that, missed the HSS in your original post. I'm not sure what the single coils are.
