OK.I*ve posted the odd thread about the perfect guitar..basically an axis shape, with an arm contour, and a p90 neck pickup, and a humbucker bridge.I have several sports configured in mm90 and in HBHB.I have decided to sacrifice one of them to start making me the *perfect* guitar.I*ve always worked well with wood,so the arm contour should be easy..The sacrificial guitar is painted silver,or pewter I guess..to be transformed to pearl blue. Can any of you pickup savvy forumites steer me in the right direction for a bridge humbucker to match up with the MM90..I like the ones on the music man sports, but won*t pillage them from my other sports.I*ve been pondering this for a while and just gots to know..

I'm assuming that you don't want to route the top for the bridge pup because if so Dimarzio do a reasonable range of P90/MM90 sized humbuckers. I had a MM90 Axis Supersport that had a Dimarzio DLX plus added to it in place of the bridge MM90. Sounded great.

There are loads of options in this space now, I personally like Lollars generally.

Oh am IMO you should add some sparkle to the pearl blue to really make it stand out from the regular models!

I would go with a Dimarzio Super Distortion in a P-90 soapbar size. The issue is that an MM-90 is not the same size as all P-90's. I think switching it up for other P-90's can be a problem.

If you have other guitars with that humbucker already I'd opt for something to cover a different range of sounds. I think the 36th Anniversary PAF would match up perfectly with the MM90 in the neck. I put a pair of those in my AL and it sounds great.

Keep us updated on the makeover.
