Help! Axis spring holder plate

Hi,

A project of mine with a Gotoh Floyd copy requires a shim, or more correctly a spring holder plate. It does have one, however it is too thin. The size i need is similar to the one that i have on my Axis.

Where do you buy one from or should i have one made up? Any suggestions?

What you are referring to is normally called a sustain block. If you do a search on ebay for "Floyd Rose Trem Sustian Block", or "Sustian Block", it should turn up some good results for you.

Thanks, however the block is different to the plate. The plate is a separate piece, which in the axis' case is a bridge shim.

What exactly are you talking about?
Got a picture?

I have had experience disassembling and reassembling a Gotoh and an OFR.
Is the piece you are talking about part of the bridge or are you talking about the Spring Claw?

The link attached shows two diagrams (the part titled "Take it apart"), refer to the first half of the diagram and it is part #3, the spring holder plate which is what i am after...

Ok I know the part you are talking about but I don't think you will be able to get that as spares anywhere. I am also not sure how necessary it might be for the working of the trem. It might work without.

The only possibly difference is a little depth difference due to it being missing.
Maybe you could compensate for this by purchasing a deeper block?

I guess it keep tension on fine tuner adjustment spring above it.

The purpose of it in the Axis is a shim to raise the bridge, it is the same reason why i need it for my project.
