axis ss vol/tone knob replacement

I pretty much always replace the hat style plastic ones with metal. I have a stash of them, but have always bought them at local repair shops, etc. whevern I see them cheap.

I swapped to a weighted barrel knob. My hat knob cracked off on me about a month into owning the guitar. I have never looked back. Feels much better and rolls faster.

Cheers,

Tom

I don't mean to laugh but how did your knob disintegrate? Were you cleaning your pots with a chemical based lubricant and got it on it?

When your knob disintegrates it is time to ask for medical advice not knucklehead advice !!!!

Hi,

The tone knob broke off my axis ss. Tried putting some strat ones on but they just arent quite right... is there any way of ordering spare parts? It's a purple finish and has cream coloured knobs. Just the tone one that's broken off!

I buy my replacement knobs from Q Parts, cool selection and they have always worked, just replaced the hats on my BFR Cutlass

There's nothing fancy about those pots. But you can certainly order direct replacements from MM directly. Just call/email ... link in my signature.

Just be careful. I cost myself a few bucks a month or so ago. I bought some chrome knobs for my starry night, but then decided they were a little too much, so I put one of them on my No. 1 Axis instead. Problem was the knobs were metric, and I turned my pot into a push-pull by accident. Don't recommend that. :o My local tech got it straightened out in a few minutes once he had the part, but I did have to wait a couple of days because he didn't have a long-shaft pot in stock.
