MAN, I would have given up my right pinky to have had an AXIS SS when I was a beginner. I had a freakin' nylon string classical guitar! Then I moved "up" to a Lotus!
GET a MUSIC MAN! Don't even debate it. If you want to save money, then buy a SUB1. If you have the money, get the axis.
in my opinion, a music man is among the best, if not THE best, to learn on. i've seen a lot of people quit, who may have stuck at it if their guitar didn't outright suck
Lucky guy...my first guitar was a 3/4 scale classical guitar with an action of about 6 inches, followed by a steel-string acoustic that required a bionic arm to play barre chords.
Just jealous...have a lot of fun with your guitar .
To be honest, I feel that it is best to learn on a good guitar as they are better made, more playable, and you get so much more enjoyment from the sound of the instrument than a cheapo guitar - you're more likely to keep playing.
