Hi,
Just finished up an intense A/B session between my 2013 R8 (with the stock custombuckers) and my new-to-me stock 2006 Axis super sport. I've come to the conclusion that I need to switch out the stock PUPs in the Axis for something a little more PAF'ish. That being said, I really dig positions 2 and 4 with the stock PUPs. I'm just looking for something a little more clear and articulate in positions in 1 and 5.
So, what PAF-voiced pickups will do the job but at the same time retain some decent, balanced quack in positions 2 and 4?
Would the 36th Annie's get the job done?
Anyone have any luck with SD Antiquities, or Seth Lovers? Can you even wire these sets up to a 5-way?
Thanks for any input!
