Axis Super Sport Tuned 1/2 Step Down?

The wait is over! My Axis Super Sport HH w/ piezo arrived yesterday. Joy!

But I noticed the guitar was tuned lower what it should be (unless my tuner's out of whack), which I thought was odd until I remembered hearing that EVH had his instrument tuned about a 1/2 step down on Van Halen's first album.

Does EBMM ship out the Axes tuned specially this way?

I got in an Axis that was 1/2 step down, but both of the SuperSports that came in were standard tuning, I believe. I could be wrong, I didn't check those last two models in.

All of our guitars leave the factory tuned E to E

mine was tuned in 440 pitch when I got it from guitar center...I had to tune it down when I restrung it
