I had Chandler make a guard from my Super Sport MM90. If you look close you will see no screws. I use a couple of very small pieces of double sided carpet tape. This tape is very thin and removes easy and wont hurt the finish. I also changed the tone and volume knobs. I like to customize my guitars and enjoy changing them around.

Really, so does it come loose or anything when playing it or from temparture changes?

I have never had a problem with it coming loose. I do remove it for cleaning from time to time and replace the tape.

That sounds like a good plan.

One thing though, inevitably even if you don't notice it, the colour of the guitar WILL change due to exposure to the sun etc, so once you remove the pickguard flawlessly, you might have some tan lines.

Unless they are stored out of direct light (ie in the case), then he should be ok.

I dunno, I think wear on a finish is absolutely inevitable over time. You might not notice it, but it will be happening, even ever so slightly. The way I see it, sunlight has to be bouncing off it for you to be able to see it, so maybe it's not in direct sunlight, but it'll have the same effect over time. It might be a long time, but it'll occur nevertheless.

I could be completely wrong, however.

yeah i dunno I don't much care about the drill part either , I haven't bought the guitar yet tho , still am saving , but I like custom , you know stuff out of the ordinary , and that way I'll know it's my guitar , and not double in a way , what ever ... I dunno it's not like I thinking on putting one on or not , its about I wanna buy want with one on it , but it's not available so I'll make it have one , it's like adding a tie to your favorit suit , or patch to your favorite jacket , adding the rum in your orange juice , or the lingery on that naked girl that you like but look so ****ing more sexy with the out fit cause there is mystery , okai I'm running out of comparaison hahaha

and it's not like it's gonna cover the whole guitar's top , but I'm sure you'll like what you'll see when I'll have bought the guitar , the pick gard and put the tissue on to prevents the scars ( yeah I was on a rhym streak , so I thought might aswell go on )

I might even get the pickguard slightly tweeked too
