Other than say Ernie Ball Musicman in the title, what is he doing wrong? He clearly says what it is, and what it is not. It is 'Unbranded'. Unlike some of the others on eBay that have Musicman logo's, but are painted up OLP's.

Not slagging, just wondering what the problem would be.

True he's not doing any of those things..... but the maker clearly ripped of the design....

Maybe I'm just in a bad mood today.

On the other hand, Gibson and Fender would never have to make another guitar if they were paid royalties on every look alike Les Paul or Strat that was made.

I think I may be able to get this one pulled from E-Bay. The headstock shape is trademarked, and the seller admits his knockoff uses the identical headstock shape. Also the seller is using the Ernie Ball name like crazy to try and sell the guitar. I will report back if I can get E-Bay to pull the auction.

Not so much of a scam, more selling crap! At least he is honest in his description.
So Tim if I copied a photo of one of your guitars and then pasted it into Ebay, would that be ok? He should have made more of an effort to get a real photo of his guitar or he could have not used a photo at all. But to use a photo of a guitar to sell another is in my book deceitful. What amazes me is that people are bidding on it:eek:

Don't get me wrong I'm on EBMM's side but why are you so worried about a guy selling a copy on ebay. He seems very up front about the fact that it is not a real EBMM. I also think that EBMM is a big boy and can handle a guy on ebay selling a one time copy without it hurting their business or integrity.

I understand but this is a just a guy selling a used guitar on ebay. I can see getting upset if a company was building and selling their EBMM copies on ebay, but this is just seom random guy.

The third word in this paragraph negates the first two words.

I see your point....almost. Here is the deal. There are quite a few peeps out there who are trying to sell OLP's as a bona fide EBMM. Simply put, they are trying to scam buyers out there. Will one guy bring down EBMM....of course not. But, how about 1,000 or more. Then, these peeps (unaware buyer) might think they got an original and let's say, they have a problem.....they call EBMM. Now, that copy is cutting into EBMM's time and effort....which costs money. Of course, that conversation might last 5 minutes, but I know EBMM Customer Service is going to listen to the buyer crying and whining.....because that is how Customer Service is at EBMM.....now, the 5 minute phone call became 15-30 minutes of dead time to EBMM. Take that time, multiply it by 1,000 and you get 30,000 minutes of nothing but crying and whining. That is alot of time and effort on EBMM part to not make a penny due to the sale of "copy" of an original.........

So, to make it clear across the board, we (forumites) find them, Wonder Dog gets 'em. It is not to bully, it is to prevent a negative income.

(Koogs takes no responsibililty in the figures presented here.....just using numbers as an example....)
