Hey guys I'm new here and have a question. Why is it that the necks on the tribute models are not as figured as the other Axis models? I'm looking at a couple different models but when I get an Axis (which I have been wanting for years) I have to have the pretty neck. I have an OLP which I modified and added the Gotoh trem and it plays amazing but it's just not the real thing. I like the different colors of the tribute's but just can't get past the neck being plain. I am also looking at a BFR Axis which has the gorgeous neck on it. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Well, I have yet to see a tribute Axis with a plain neck. All the guitars I have seen pictures of so far had beautiful necks and tops that were far from beeing plain.
Have a look at the giutar center platinum website!
Cheers,

Welcome to the forum, Warren. I have seen more Tributes with nice neck than with plain necks. It's just luck of the draw, I suppose, since every neck is different. The BFR guitars generally have nicer woods.

Tollie don't mention BFRs as its a touchy subject at the moment on the other thread lol

Thanks guys. And thanks for the heads up on the GC Platinum sight, I was unaware it existed. I found what I was looking for there, a purple tribute with a gorgeous neck and at a ridiculously reduced price. It was at a GC in Maryland and is on it's way to Bama. I have been wanting an Axis for a long time and could never really justify the cost but my wife wanted to get me one for my 50th, she is really something.

Hey Warren congrats and welcome. Make sure to put up a NGO post with plenty of pics and a review.
