Hi brothers,

I´ve got a 93 Axis and want to give it more tonal options like the Axis SS serial/parallel. I have a DiMarzio Push Pull Poti but no Idea how to wire this... Could someone help me or give me a wiring diagram? Has anyone done this to his Axis? Is it worth the effort? Thanks guys!!!;-)

The wiring looks similar to this if you want to split coils:

Wiring Diagram

Only you don't need the tone pot. I can alter the picture and send it to you. Don't want to post the diagramm without the tone pot here, because SD has the copyright.

Thanks for the quick answers.;-))

Is this the same wiring like the ASS because I don´t want a coil split but the coils in parallel like on the ASS??

Wire up the pot the same way that the current on is. Just transfer the wires one by one. Then, on the switch, run a wire to the two middle lugs of the switch to ground. On the pickup selector switch, there are two black and white wires, one of each is soldered directly to each other on the sides of the switch. Take two wires, and run each of these to each of the upper lugs on the switch on your new pot. Wired this way, it will be stock with the volume knob down, and if you pull the knob up, it will spit the coils. I found that just grounding the coil taps was a little harsh, one thing I did was to run a resistor in series with the wire going from the coil tap switch and ground, what it does is only shunt part of the pickups coil tap to ground, it makes it a completely different animal, you can get closer to an actual single coil sound, or even a p90 sound, without as much hum. I would try any value between a 10k to 50k resistor. Or, to get even more possibilities, get a variable resistor, a trim pot, rated at 100k, and then you can adjust it to taste. The Axis stock pickups are extremely versatile wired this way. I used a 20k resistor, and I can get really convincing tele sounds with mine.
