Everywhere I look, it says the Axis is not available with a rosewood fingerboard, only the SuperSport.

I have an Axis with a Rosewood fretboard, and I am confused on why. Was it custom made for somebody? Did they start to build them this way?

I thought that it could be an aftermarket neck, but it has a matching headstock, so I highly doubt it.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I believe that the rosewood board has been an option on the standard Axis for over a year now...its just that everyone is so used to seeing the Axis with the all maple neck that when the rosewood board is an option, immediately ? are raised haha.

We added the RW fretboard as an option on the Axis in the summer of 2008

I thought if it was specifically made for an artist (not a dealer) thr truss rod cover had 'CUSTOM MADE' stamped in it.

Either way, I swear I've seen a non-SS Axis with rosewood before...

EDIT: It's the all Rosewood AXIS I'm thinking of, duh...
