Where the hell have I been?
Playing for 27 years and owned many guitars over the time since I was 10 years old - currently own 12.
I have just discovered the AXIS!
I scoffed at the body design and never gave it a chance when it came out, but one day last week a 2001 (actually built on 6/19 - my birthday to later find out) caught my eye ( stunning looks) and I just had to play it.
You know the feeling - instantly like it or not - Liked it lots!
A quick truss rod adjustment to help with the 10's on it and bam!
It gets better - I have been struggling with pickup selection in my Ibanez RG517 (Duncan JB, Duncan Custom, etc...) very good, but not wow great.
Well I am not sure what makes up these "custom wound Dimarzios" but they are exactly what I am looking for - perfect!
The neck fits my hand perfect, locking trem is great, the guitar just feel right all over and sound fantastic. I am not sure if the 10's have anything to do with the "TONE" that this guitar produces, but I am not changing to 9's.
The last note has to be about build quality. There is something special going on throughout. Sure you can pay more and get more but very impressive for the price range.
It's great to add this guitar to my collection and has become my favorite axe overnight.
